Short text input fields with Twitter Bootstrap 3. April 2013 by Alex I've been fighting a confusing problem for a little while - it took more time to resolve than I'd care to admit. If you're using Twitter Bootstrap in a website's presentation layer, you might run into an issue where your input fields, text boxes mostly, are rendered too short - they're about 75% of the normal size. This problem might be caused by a failure to use the HTML5 doctype in the webpage - https://github.com/twitter/bootstrap/issues/246. In other words, you might be missing the first line in the following snippet - <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> <head> [...] </head> <body> [...] </body> </html> Here's a before an after shot; the first picture does not have the DOCTYPE node, the 2nd does. A minor difference, but it screws up the layout of most forms because labels won't align with the input fields. This one that threw me for a loop for a few hours, so I hope this helps someone out there.
